Askoll Drive Unit C90A is a bottom bracket motor developed for high-end e-mountain bikes with a rated power of 250 W and a maximum power of about 700 W that delivers an optimised torque of 90 Nm between 60 and 80 rides per minute.

It is a brushless motor covered by several patents, with synchronous technology, four-axes architecture, SKF Energy Efficient Bearings, treated high-strength steels and a 48 rare earth-class magnetic compartment. Thanks to these high-end solutions, the C90A is extremely light-weight – only 2.9 Kg – despite being made with aluminum. The internal transmission gears are another ad hoc made piece of mastery built to ensure the system’s long life.

Other extremely valuable features of the C90A are the frame linkages. Indeed, they are placed in the same positions as the popular Shimano STEP’s ones; and therefore the C90A is immediately combinable with frames already in production.

As for the electronics, the Askoll Drive C90A motor has a control system developed in house equipped with an inertial platform that measures the level of thrust on the pedals, detects the context of use with an inclinometer and detects the temperature to optimise the performance of the motor.

In fact, it is up to the electronics to make the engine as effective and efficient as possible, delivering the right power according to real needs and the level of assistance selected.

Four assistance levels support the rider: Eco – 80%, 30 Nm; Tour – 160%, 55 Nm; Sport – 300%, 75 Nm; Turbo 400%, 90 Nm; in addition to the non-assisted mode and the walk assistance mode.

On request, it is possible to implement the default setting with three different modes: agile for less demanding routes, sporty for off-road routes with some climbs and powerful for hardcore Emtb Use.

To ensure the system’s overall quality, we decided to take matters into our own hands and we developed and integrated our own battery.

The made in Italy Askoll battery comes in two sizes, one with 630 Wh and a smaller version with 500 Wh; weighting 3,30 Kg and 2,85 Kg, respectively.

The supreme quality of our components and the modern processes that combine them guarantee a product that is far from any expectation. And not just a performing and efficient battery. One that is built for severe use: with extruded aluminium body, anti-vibration waterproof connectors and a reduced size.

Moreover, the Askoll Battery was designed to be In-Tube and Fixed following the most recent trend; and with the same size of the Shimano 630 Wh battery – for it to be already optimised in terms of compatibility.

Askoll vision is to provide a whole Askoll ULTRA Experience and the effort taken on with the development of the Askoll Battery stands for our commitment to deliver that whole experience, with an Actionable KIT.

The Sigma EOX Technology integration is the final touch to innovative and projects such as the Askoll ULTRA C90A.

Indeed, the sigma technology is enjoyable through the controller’s display and mobile integration and it will allow rider always to choose what to see, where to see it and how to interact with it. Further data-integration is possible by connecting mobile devices, biometric-tracker such as wristband or chest-band and/or with a wide variety of third-parties applications.

When on the bike, all the most important data and interactions are addressable with the EOX Remote 500, a modern device with an ergonomic design, ambient light sensor and Bluetooth Smart integration. A unique product in its class.
Indeed, thanks to the six-colour LED indicator, the most important information (such as support level, battery status and error message) is displayed clearly and directly to the rider; and thanks to 7 Keys placed on the ergonomic controller, the rider can adjust and with between modes and datasets.

The e-bike system and The EOX® REMOTE 500 are connected via Can-Bus cable, besides being connected and via Bluetooth Smart interface, to be able to communicate with the EOX® app, which displays and saves the covered values. The app can be used to specify which riding data to display as well as to track and share trips on various channels and social media. Moreover, all the recorded trips can be uploaded for Free to the SIGMA CLOUD.

These great gears, in combination with one of the five available EOX® VIEW Display – a top-tier selection of Cycle computers equipped with a long-life battery, secure data connection guaranteed by the high-performance ANT+ and a Bluetooth interface – make it extremely easy and user-friendly to control and interact with the Askoll ULTRA Ebike System.

THE VALUE OF INNOVATION

Synchronous Technology

Synchronous motors are characterised by a constant rotation speed, independent of the load but perfectly synchronised to the frequency of the power supply network. This technology allows the development of electric motors with a high power / weight ratio, great reliability, low rotor inertia (ready accelerations and decelerations without inertia), heat limited to the stator only, and energy savings. Furthermore, with the same power, smaller motors can be built and materials can be saved.

As a general rule, Synchronous technology allows any electric motor to save more than 50% of energy compared to conventional electric motors.

This amazing technology invented by Askoll, represents the foundation of our product since 1978. And not only ours. To date, virtually every washing machine, dishwasher and drier in the world is based on this technology.

Electric History, Mobility Legacy

Founded in 1978 by Elio Marioni, current President, the Askoll Group is the leader in producing of innovative electric motors for household appliances and technical components for aquariums and ponds. The headquarters of the Group is in Dueville (VI), home to the Research & Innovation Center, where our most innovative products are designed.
